Research Abstract

性ホルモンが細胞増殖を制御することはすでに知られているが、その詳細なメカニズムには不明な点が残されている。本研究では組織の大きさが雌雄で異なる副腎皮質を対象とし、雌雄の性ホルモンの制御によって代謝活性および細胞増殖に性差が誘導されることを示す。 本研究は、副腎皮質における性ホルモンの作用メカニズムを明らかにするとともに、性ホルモンが多岐にわたる生理機能を発揮する際のメカニズムの理解に向け、代謝制御という新規の視点を提供することが期待される。
