Research Abstract
考古学者と地球科学の研究者の協働作業を通して、過去の港の位置を推測できるモデルを創出する。研究のステップとして、水中考古学調査から港の正確な位置を特定し、次に海洋データ（潮流・風向き・底質など）および地形データの分析から港湾およびその周辺の自然条件を可視化する。そして、港湾の位置と自然条件の空間的分布特性を比較検討することにより、港を建設する際に好まれる、もしくは制約される自然条件を明らかにする。これに加え、歴史・陸の考古学研究から明らかになりつつある情報から港湾の立地の社会的要因を評価する。それらをパラメーターとして解析されたモデルは、未発見の港のある可能性の高い場所を示すツールとなる。
