Research Abstract

飲食物の味の評価を行う際に「優しい味」といった表現がよく用いられる。「優しい」は文字通りには人の性格や行為を表す言葉であるので、こうした表現は比喩とみなせるだろう。しかし、味に対してなぜ人の比喩が行われるのか、優しい味は正確にはどのような意味で「優しい」のかと問われると、答えるのは簡単ではない。本研究はこうした味の評価における比喩の仕組みを明らかにするために、評価に関する哲学や美学、味に関する生理学や脳科学、比喩に関する言語学の研究を参照し、包括的な観点からアプローチする。
