Description
The effects of application of silica iron and silica iron in a citric acid solution on the growth and fruit quality of tomatoes were studied for two years, in 2022 and 2023. It was found that the application of a 1.0% silica iron citrate solution and a 1.0% silica iron citric acid solution( 300 kg・10 a-1) at 1 L per plant during planting did not inhibit tomato growth and did not affect fruit weight, sugar content, acidity, and ascorbic acid content. On the other hand, when tomatoes were planted after the application of silica iron (300 kg・10 a-1) and treated with 1.0% citric acid solution every seven days, stem length, stem freshness and dry weight, and fruit weight were reduced compared to the control, indicating that growth was inhibited.
