This research examined the situations of English teachers and their attitudes towards pronunciation teaching. The results of questionnaires show that most teachers have not learned how to teach pronunciation before getting their jobs and that after getting jobs they have not opportunities to learn pronunciation teaching. This is one of the reasons that teachers do not teach pronunciation in their English classes. To solve this, more training should be provided for teachers and teaching pronunciation should be introduced in the curriculum of teacher’s license courses. Another result shows that most English teachers set their goals of pronunciation to their students as EIL, which is a great attitudinal change for them and also is an important factor in Japanese English classes.
