The love affair and marriage of Rachel, modeled after the mother that appears in the novel\ “ Xiaotuanyuan”, as well as the featured mother-daughter relationship, were analyzed through a\ comparison between the biography and prose. This strongly suggested that many fictional events in\ this novel that deviate from facts are featured in the biography and prose. The daughter grew up from\ an early age without the presence of her mother. The daughter subsequently sustained psychological\ trauma from her mother’s amorous adventures with men that can be characterized as romance\ addiction, as well as the mother’s emotional outbursts.\ 　　This “biographical novel” was written in the United States when the author was 55 years of age\ and depicts the “emotional growth of the daughter” and the “revenge on the mother”. It is a “story of a\ mother told from the perspective of a daughter”.
