説明

Ukifune, who is the heroin of the "Tenarai" volume of The Tale of Genji, becomes a priestess in this volume. She is required to turn to the direction for her parent(s) "Oya-no-onkata" in the ceremoney. In this paper, the issue that she recognizes "Oya-no-onkata" not only as her mother (Chujo no kimi) but also as her father (Uji Hachinomiya) is discussed. Then the character formation of Ukifune is analyzed.
