In recent years，we have come to realize that there will be serious problems in the future conerning the Earth's environment. The destruction of forests is regarded as particularly key to this problem. In order to solve the problem，this writer believes that we need to get to know well someone who had committed himself to protesting against forest destruction. Kumagusu Minakata is a well known as an ecologist，having committed himself to the protest against forest destruction. This paper analyses the development of Minakata's study methodology through the first half of his life to point out some outlines of a Green Philosophy that has not previously been discussed. It was concluded that Minakata's study methodology was influenced very much by Konrad von Gesner，Gottfried Leibniz and Aristotle. Realizing this，the writer has pointed out some outlines of a Green Philosophy.
