Description

Previous studies stated that V-moqchi in Uzbek which belongs to the Turkic Languages' Southeastern branch expresses the intention, plan, and desire. However, they have not achieved a unified description of V-moqchi's meaning. This study aims to describe V-moqchi's meaning, uniformly contrasting it with Japanese which expresses the intention, plan, and desire in each form. This study contrasts V-moqchi with the intention -ru tumori=da "intend to do," the desire -sitai "want to do," and the plan -ru yotei=da "plan to do" in Japanese, using the examples drawn from previous studies or the author. Thereby, this study clarified that the features of V-moqchi correspond to both the intention -ru tumori=da, and the plan -ru yotei=da "plan to do." Thus, this study concludes that V-moqchi expresses the plan.
