Description

The results o' harmonic analysis of the phase voltage,the phase current and the armature active power (≒out put) made on two synchronous motors driven with 180°type thyristor inverter are discussed in this paper. These motors are the squirrel cage type and the solid pole type. A new method for analyzing the distorted waveform and computing the harmonic contents is suggested in Fig.-1. The experimental values of harmonic contents in the phase voltage,the phase current and armature active power analyzed by this method agree well with the theoretical values. Therefore,this can be particulary suitable for a method of harmonicanalysis. From the experimental results of the two motors driven with the inverter,it is concluded that iron loss and copper loss of motor caused by harmonic in the supply voltage increase,but there is not very much change on the armature active power.
