ダイナミック・ケイパビリティ論に対しては，ダイナミック・ケイパビリティ概念自体の曖昧さやその理論体系としての脆弱さが指摘されてきた。こうした状況の中，特定の製品やプロセスを継続的に改良して効率性を高める能力として，スーパーオーディナリー・ケイパビリティという新たな概念が提示された。しかし，その新たな能力概念が従来の能力概念とどのように区別され，またその理論体系の中でどのように位置づけられ，どのような点で有益なのかについては現状明らかにされていない。そこで，本稿ではまず，ダイナミック・ケイパビリティやオーディナリー・ケイパビリティとの区別を明らかにするために，スーパーオーディナリー・ケイパビリティ概念を詳細に検討し，従来の能力概念を含めて再定義した。その結果，ダイナミック・ケイパビリティは進化的適合度を高める高次のダイナミックな能力，スーパーオーディナリー・ケイパビリティは技能的適合度を高める高次のダイナミックな能力，オーディナリー・ケイパビリティは技能的適合度と進化的適合度を高める低次のスタティックな能力として区別できることがわかった。そのうえで，持続的な競争優位の源泉をめぐるダイナミック・ケイパビリティ論内部の論争を取り上げ，スーパーオーディナリー・ケイパビリティ概念の導入がその理論体系にどのように役立つのかを検証した。本稿では各能力と持続的な競争優位の関係を再解釈することで，スーパーオーディナリー・ケイパビリティ概念の導入によってその内部論争を解決できる可能性があること，また持続的な競争優位は環境変化の激しさにかかわらず，ダイナミック・ケイパビリティとスーパーオーディナリー・ケイパビリティの両方に大きく依存することを示した。これらの結論は，スーパーオーディナリー・ケイパビリティ概念の導入がダイナミック・ケイパビリティ論の理論体系を精緻化する可能性を示唆している。 While dynamic capabilities framework has been pointed out that the content is ambiguous and weak as theory, a new concept called superordinary capabilities has been proposed as the ability to continuously improve specific products or processes. However, it is unclear how are superordinary capabilities differentiated from dynamic capabilities and ordinary capabilities and how useful for the framework. To answer the questions, this paper redefines the three capabilities based on the order and the fitness and discusses the disputes within the framework regarding sustainable competitive advantage. It shows that dynamic capabilities and superordinary capabilities are higher-order dynamic abilities that increase evolutionary and technical fitness, respectively, and ordinary capabilities are lower-order static abilities that increases technical and evolutionary fitness. Also, it is suggested that the concept of superordinary capabilities resolves the disputes, and that sustainable competitive advantage depends on both of dynamic capabilities and superordinary capabilities, regardless of the business environment.
