We reviewed 2858 records obtained from the CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Embase, PsycINFO, PubMed, and Web of Science databases, and finally included 76 in this review. The main results we found showed an increase in the rate of burnout, dimensions of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and compassion fatigue; a reduction in personal accomplishment; and levels of compassion satisfaction similar to those before the pandemic. The main risk factors associated with burnout were anxiety, depression, and insomnia, along with some sociodemographic variables such as being a woman or a nurse or working directly with COVID-19 patients. Comparable results were found for compassion fatigue, but information regarding compassion satisfaction was lacking. The main protective factors were resilience and social support.</jats:p>"}]}],"creator":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1380017285980924032","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Cristina Lluch"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Methodology for the Behavioral Sciences, University of Valencia, 46010 Valencia, Spain"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1380017285980924034","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Laura Galiana"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Methodology for the Behavioral Sciences, University of Valencia, 46010 Valencia, Spain"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1380017285980924033","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Pablo Doménech"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Faculty of Education, Valencian International University, 46002 Valencia, Spain"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1380017285980924035","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Noemí Sansó"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Nursing and Physiotherapy, University of Balearic Islands, 07122 Palma, Spain"},{"@value":"Balearic Islands Health Research Institute (IDISBA), 07120 Palma, Spain"}]}],"publication":{"publicationIdentifier":[{"@type":"EISSN","@value":"22279032"}],"prism:publicationName":[{"@value":"Healthcare"}],"dc:publisher":[{"@value":"MDPI AG"}],"prism:publicationDate":"2022-02-13","prism:volume":"10","prism:number":"2","prism:startingPage":"364"},"reviewed":"false","dc:rights":["https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/"],"url":[{"@id":"https://www.mdpi.com/2227-9032/10/2/364/pdf"}],"createdAt":"2022-02-13","modifiedAt":"2025-10-10","relatedProduct":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1360580232389583744","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Improvements in Compassion and Fears of Compassion throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Multinational Study"}]}],"dataSourceIdentifier":[{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.3390/healthcare10020364"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.3390/ijerph20031845_references_DOI_E9pC0udsBHzbZRcnSF8AaVbl9sd"}]}
