説明
<jats:p> OPALS is an optical digital computing system based on optical array logic. The modularized OPALS is one version of OPALS composed of functional modules utilizing electronic techniques. We have constructed the preliminary experimental system of the modularized OPALS using discrete optoelectronic devices. The operation of the system is verified by the execution of several kinds of parallel processing; <jats:italic>e.g.</jats:italic>, neighborhood operations and 3 bit addition. </jats:p>
