Highly purified CD4/ and CD8/ T cells, and B cells from normal healthy individuals were reacted with affinity-purified IgG anti-P, and were stained with FITC-conjugated F(ab0)2, fragment goat anti-human IgG, followed by analysis on flow cytometry with gating for viable cells by propidium iodide staining. The presence of an epitope that is antigenically related to the carboxyl-terminal 22-amino-acid sequence of ribosomal P protein was not demonstrated on the surface of fresh CD4/ and CD8/ T cells, or fresh B cells. However, the expression of the ribosomal P epitope was induced on CD4/ and CD8/ T cells after activation with immobilized anti-CD3, whereas the epitope was not expressed on activated B cells. These results indicate that anti-P is an antilymphocyte antibody, which reacts specifically with activated T cells but not with resting T cells or B cells, suggesting possible direct effects of anti-P on the immune dysregulation in systemic lupus erythematosus.
"}]}],"creator":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1580291226464953088","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"S Hirohata"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1380292620129670529","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"K Nakanishi"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Internal Medicine, Teikyo University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan"}]}],"publication":{"publicationIdentifier":[{"@type":"PISSN","@value":"09612033"},{"@type":"EISSN","@value":"14770962"}],"prism:publicationName":[{"@value":"Lupus"}],"dc:publisher":[{"@value":"SAGE Publications"}],"prism:publicationDate":"2001-09","prism:volume":"10","prism:number":"9","prism:startingPage":"612","prism:endingPage":"621"},"reviewed":"false","dc:rights":["https://journals.sagepub.com/page/policies/text-and-data-mining-license"],"url":[{"@id":"https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10.1191/096120301682430195"}],"createdAt":"2003-11-12","modifiedAt":"2025-03-02","foaf:topic":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=CD4-Positive%20T-Lymphocytes","dc:title":"CD4-Positive T-Lymphocytes"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Ribosomal%20Proteins","dc:title":"Ribosomal Proteins"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=B-Lymphocytes","dc:title":"B-Lymphocytes"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Protozoan%20Proteins","dc:title":"Protozoan Proteins"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Antibodies,%20Monoclonal","dc:title":"Antibodies, Monoclonal"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=CD8-Positive%20T-Lymphocytes","dc:title":"CD8-Positive T-Lymphocytes"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Flow%20Cytometry","dc:title":"Flow Cytometry"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Lymphocyte%20Activation","dc:title":"Lymphocyte Activation"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Epitopes","dc:title":"Epitopes"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Jurkat%20Cells","dc:title":"Jurkat Cells"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Antibody%20Specificity","dc:title":"Antibody Specificity"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Humans","dc:title":"Humans"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Lupus%20Erythematosus,%20Systemic","dc:title":"Lupus Erythematosus, Systemic"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Cells,%20Cultured","dc:title":"Cells, Cultured"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Autoantibodies","dc:title":"Autoantibodies"}],"relatedProduct":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1360285709230154496","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Anti-ribosomal P protein antibodies influence mortality of patients with diffuse psychiatric/neuropsychological syndromes in systemic lupus erythematous involving a severe form of the disease"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390001204650002688","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy","isCitedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Central nervous system involvement in connective tissue diseases"},{"@language":"ja","@value":"こう原病の難治性病態　　中枢神経病変"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390001206446916096","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"5.
