Semi-infaunal species are generally intermediate between epifaunal and rock-boring ones both in terms of shell form and the magnitude of forces pulling the shells against the substratum. A molecular phylogenetic analyses using 18s rDNA sequence data strongly suggests that Leiosolenus and Lithophaga are monophyletic genera but that the so-called Lithophaginae (or Leiosolenus plus Lithophaga) is a paraphyletic group. The common cylindrical shell form of rock-boring species, which is here called “lithophagiform” as a third functional mytilid clade, may be due to convergence, as is the case with ‘mytiliform’ and ‘modioliform’."}]}],"creator":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1380855569735456768","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Masato Owada"}]}],"publication":{"publicationIdentifier":[{"@type":"PISSN","@value":"00253162"},{"@type":"EISSN","@value":"14321793"}],"prism:publicationName":[{"@value":"Marine Biology"}],"dc:publisher":[{"@value":"Springer Science and Business Media LLC"}],"prism:publicationDate":"2006-07-21","prism:volume":"150","prism:number":"5","prism:startingPage":"853","prism:endingPage":"860"},"reviewed":"false","dc:rights":["http://www.springer.com/tdm"],"url":[{"@id":"http://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s00227-006-0409-y.pdf"},{"@id":"http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00227-006-0409-y/fulltext.html"},{"@id":"http://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s00227-006-0409-y"}],"createdAt":"2006-07-20","modifiedAt":"2024-02-05","relatedProduct":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1520291855714573056","@type":"Article","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Phylogenetic characterization of three morphs of mussels (Bivalvia, Mytilidae) inhabiting isolated marine environments in Palau Islands"},{"@language":"ja-Kana","@value":"Phylogenetic characterization of three morphs of mussels Bivalvia Mytilidae inhabiting isolated marine environments in Palau Islands"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/2050870367075056512","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Boring bivalve traces in modern reef and deeper-water macroid and rhodolith beds"}]}],"dataSourceIdentifier":[{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1007/s00227-006-0409-y"},{"@type":"OPENAIRE","@value":"doi_dedup___::1f2dc03334c726c628643f22296b5657"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.2108/zsj.28.568_references_DOI_L9Xctr5sBkzAPbCGKGfAy6I1zag"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1186/s40645-020-00356-w_references_DOI_L9Xctr5sBkzAPbCGKGfAy6I1zag"}]}
