People who experience them may struggle to feel relieved, reassured or safe. Research suggests that a specialised affect regulation system (or systems) underpins feelings of reassurance, safeness and well-being. It is believed to have evolved with attachment systems and, in particular, the ability to register and respond with calming and a sense of well-being to being cared for. In compassion-focused therapy it is hypothesised that this affect regulation system is poorly accessible in people with high shame and self-criticism, in whom the ‘threat’ affect regulation system dominates orientation to their inner and outer worlds. Compassion-focused therapy is an integrated and multimodal approach that draws from evolutionary, social, developmental and Buddhist psychology, and neuroscience. One of its key concerns is to use compassionate mind training to help people develop and work with experiences of inner warmth, safeness and soothing, via compassion and self-compassion.</jats:p>"}]}],"creator":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381418521348906880","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Paul Gilbert"}]}],"publication":{"publicationIdentifier":[{"@type":"PISSN","@value":"13555146"},{"@type":"EISSN","@value":"14721481"}],"prism:publicationName":[{"@value":"Advances in Psychiatric Treatment"}],"dc:publisher":[{"@value":"Cambridge University Press (CUP)"}],"prism:publicationDate":"2009-05","prism:volume":"15","prism:number":"3","prism:startingPage":"199","prism:endingPage":"208"},"reviewed":"false","dc:rights":["https://www.cambridge.org/core/terms"],"url":[{"@id":"https://www.cambridge.org/core/services/aop-cambridge-core/content/view/S1355514600005654"}],"createdAt":"2009-04-30","modifiedAt":"2024-03-13","relatedProduct":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1050023085105771136","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Moderating effect of self-compassion in the association of automatic thoughts and rumination with burnout among nursing students"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1360025431113908608","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"A Narrative Review of Compassion Focused Therapy on Positive Mental Health Outcomes"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1360290617579915776","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"The development of the Japanese version of the compassionate engagement and action scales"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390574047041156736","@type":"Article","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Positive Computing using Kansei Technology"},{"@language":"ja","@value":"ポジティブ・コンピューティングとは"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390588976724256128","@type":"Article","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"ja","@value":"対人ケア場面での「思いやり」測定尺度についての文献検討"},{"@language":"en","@value":"A Literature Review of Compassion Measurement Scales in Interpersonal Care Settings: Development and Cross-Cultural Applications in International Contexts"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390864811375884032","@type":"Article","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"ja","@value":"セルフ・コンパッションと精神的健康との関連"},{"@language":"ja-Kana","@value":"セルフ ・ コンパッション ト セイシンテキ ケンコウ ト ノ カンレン"}]}],"dataSourceIdentifier":[{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1192/apt.bp.107.005264"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.5057/kansei.18.2_55_references_DOI_FxA6Udv3aYQjMYQIqk0QzQmb2QH"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1007/s12144-024-07062-6_references_DOI_FxA6Udv3aYQjMYQIqk0QzQmb2QH"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.3390/bs14080643_references_DOI_FxA6Udv3aYQjMYQIqk0QzQmb2QH"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.5630/jans.45.1007_references_DOI_FxA6Udv3aYQjMYQIqk0QzQmb2QH"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1371/journal.pone.0230875_references_DOI_FxA6Udv3aYQjMYQIqk0QzQmb2QH"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.11642/kyushuneurop.69.1_3_references_DOI_FxA6Udv3aYQjMYQIqk0QzQmb2QH"}]}
