The peptide rendered all 53 polymyxin-susceptible strains tested more susceptible to novobiocin, lowering the MIC of novobiocin eightfold or more. The combination of polymyxin B nonapeptide with novobiocin or with erythromycin administered intraperitoneally in multiple doses synergistically protected mice infected with gram-negative bacteria. This combination may be clinically useful because of the apparent rarity of the acquisition of resistance.</jats:p>"}]}],"creator":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699993722296450","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"I Ofek"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Human Microbiology, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel."}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699993722296448","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"S Cohen"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Human Microbiology, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel."}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699993722296452","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"R Rahmani"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Human Microbiology, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel."}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699993722296454","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"K Kabha"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Human Microbiology, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel."}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699993722296453","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"D Tamarkin"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Human Microbiology, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel."}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699993722296451","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Y Herzig"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Human Microbiology, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel."}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699993722296449","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"E Rubinstein"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Human Microbiology, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel."}]}],"publication":{"publicationIdentifier":[{"@type":"PISSN","@value":"00664804"},{"@type":"EISSN","@value":"10986596"},{"@type":"PISSN","@value":"https://id.crossref.org/issn/00664804"}],"prism:publicationName":[{"@value":"Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy"}],"dc:publisher":[{"@value":"American Society for Microbiology"}],"prism:publicationDate":"1994-02","prism:volume":"38","prism:number":"2","prism:startingPage":"374","prism:endingPage":"377"},"reviewed":"false","dc:rights":["https://journals.asm.org/non-commercial-tdm-license"],"url":[{"@id":"https://journals.asm.org/doi/pdf/10.1128/AAC.38.2.374"}],"createdAt":"2012-06-28","modifiedAt":"2022-02-21","relatedProduct":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390282679146238464","@type":"Article","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Development of Des-Fatty Acyl-Polymyxin B Decapeptide Analogs with Pseudomonas aeruginosa-Specific Antimicrobial Activity"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390282679150056576","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Novel Des-Fatty Acyl-Polymyxin B Derivatives with Pseudomonas aeruginosa-Specific Antimicrobial Activity"}]}],"dataSourceIdentifier":[{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1128/aac.38.2.374"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1248/cpb.57.332_references_DOI_Aj3EFmT1KvFvdDg4yxkRaDfIFI6"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1248/cpb.59.597_references_DOI_Aj3EFmT1KvFvdDg4yxkRaDfIFI6"}]}
