The change in the magnetic field is correlated with an earthquake activity and crustal deformation, which indicate a dike intrusion very close to the observation site. A dike model based on the crustal deformation data shows that the primary cause of the magnetic change was the piezomagnetic effect associated with the dike emplacement, and that the other potential factors, including thermal and electrokinetic effects, were unlikely to be its principal cause. We obtained a new dike model by combining both the crustal deformation and the magnetic field change, which is sensitive to the strong stress changes near the edges of dike. The new dike model shows lateral and upward propagation of the dike during its intrusion, and suggests that shallow cracks induced by the dike intrusion near the ground surface contributed to the changes seen in the magnetic field."}]}],"creator":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1380013168749368582","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"H UEDA"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699994215418626","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"T MATSUMOTO"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699994215418753","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"E FUJITA"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699994215418755","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"M UKAWA"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699994215418752","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"E YAMAMOTO"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699994215418754","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Y SASAI"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699994215418756","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"M IRWAN"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699994215418624","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"F KIMATA"}]}],"publication":{"publicationIdentifier":[{"@type":"PISSN","@value":"0012821X"}],"prism:publicationName":[{"@value":"Earth and Planetary Science Letters"}],"dc:publisher":[{"@value":"Elsevier BV"}],"prism:publicationDate":"2006-05-15","prism:volume":"245","prism:number":"1-2","prism:startingPage":"416","prism:endingPage":"426"},"reviewed":"false","dc:rights":["https://www.elsevier.com/tdm/userlicense/1.0/"],"url":[{"@id":"https://api.elsevier.com/content/article/PII:S0012821X06001762?httpAccept=text/xml"},{"@id":"https://api.elsevier.com/content/article/PII:S0012821X06001762?httpAccept=text/plain"}],"createdAt":"2006-04-18","modifiedAt":"2019-01-17","relatedProduct":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1050003824816585472","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Temporal variations in magnetic signals generated by the piezomagnetic effect for dislocation sources in a uniform medium"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1050290769977980416","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Piezomagnetic fields associated with a dislocation source in a layered elastic medium"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1360004232135206400","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Direct magnetic signals from earthquake rupturing: Iwate-Miyagi earthquake of M 7.2, Japan"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1360285710546165376","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Numerical simulation of piezomagnetic changes associated with hydrothermal pressurization"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/2050307417121613056","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Two independent signals detected by ocean bottom electromagnetometers during a non-eruptive volcanic event : Ogasawara Island arc volcano, Nishinoshima"}]}],"dataSourceIdentifier":[{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1016/j.epsl.2006.02.036"},{"@type":"OPENAIRE","@value":"doi_dedup___::39e20b63fa55483d220dac1eb432ea3a"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1186/s40623-020-01240-z_references_DOI_Sl4RhCe7xIiH5WiFRdY029AEWg6"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1111/j.1365-246x.2010.04580.x_references_DOI_Sl4RhCe7xIiH5WiFRdY029AEWg6"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1093/gji/ggw125_references_DOI_Sl4RhCe7xIiH5WiFRdY029AEWg6"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1093/gji/ggab160_references_DOI_Sl4RhCe7xIiH5WiFRdY029AEWg6"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1016/j.epsl.2011.02.042_references_DOI_Sl4RhCe7xIiH5WiFRdY029AEWg6"}]}
