The strain regime is partially or fully induced by the sources themselves or by slab structures near the sources. We observe consistency in the non-double couple components from three different seismic wave inversions. Among 21 earthquakes studied, 17 events have the same sign in the three non-double couple components, and the signs show a correlation with the state of strain release within the slabs. The effects of unmodeled propagation structure and instability of the inversion procedure are unlikely to be responsible for the consistent non-double couple components because the suites of seismic waves traverse different paths and the various inversion schemes have the different resolvabilities of the moment tensors."}]}],"creator":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699994254361473","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Keiko Kuge"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699994254361472","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Hitoshi Kawakatsu"}]}],"publication":{"publicationIdentifier":[{"@type":"PISSN","@value":"00319201"}],"prism:publicationName":[{"@value":"Physics of the Earth and Planetary Interiors"}],"dc:publisher":[{"@value":"Elsevier BV"}],"prism:publicationDate":"1993-01","prism:volume":"75","prism:number":"4","prism:startingPage":"243","prism:endingPage":"266"},"reviewed":"false","dc:rights":["https://www.elsevier.com/tdm/userlicense/1.0/"],"url":[{"@id":"https://api.elsevier.com/content/article/PII:003192019390004S?httpAccept=text/xml"},{"@id":"https://api.elsevier.com/content/article/PII:003192019390004S?httpAccept=text/plain"}],"createdAt":"2002-11-12","modifiedAt":"2024-01-07","relatedProduct":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1050001335849268224","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Mathematical review on source-type diagrams"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1050852901088959616","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Centroid moment tensor inversions of offshore earthquakes using a three-dimensional velocity structure model: slip distributions on the plate boundary along the Nankai Trough"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1360584340530873856","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Complex rupture evolution of the 2007 Martinique earthquake: a non-double-couple event in the Caribbean Sea"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1360588381081039616","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Characterizing Lithospheric Transverse Isotropy Using Moment Tensors—On the Origin of the Non–Double-Couple Components of Global CMT Solutions"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/2050025942148523904","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Long-period ground motion simulation using centroid moment tensor inversion solutions based on the regional three-dimensional model in the Kanto region, Japan"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/2051714791869811968","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Seismic imaging of slab metamorphism and genesis of intermediate-depth intraslab earthquakes"}]}],"dataSourceIdentifier":[{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1016/0031-9201(93)90004-s"},{"@type":"OPENAIRE","@value":"doi_dedup___::6ecb32387651f548290b5f34c913ee81"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1093/gji/ggaa238_references_DOI_4xmWof6rtlSGMDuR1daNdrqlW5S"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1186/s40623-020-01348-2_references_DOI_4xmWof6rtlSGMDuR1daNdrqlW5S"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1186/s40623-016-0421-5_references_DOI_4xmWof6rtlSGMDuR1daNdrqlW5S"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1093/gji/ggae024_references_DOI_4xmWof6rtlSGMDuR1daNdrqlW5S"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1785/0120240136_references_DOI_4xmWof6rtlSGMDuR1daNdrqlW5S"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1186/s40645-017-0126-9_references_DOI_4xmWof6rtlSGMDuR1daNdrqlW5S"}]}
