The poly(3-PPA) obtained showed optical activity with negative rotation ([α]25365 −33° to −56°), which may be based on a predominant one-handed helical conformation of the main chain, and also exhibited a signal due to an ester carbonyl group at 1738 cm-1 in its IR spectrum. This means that the polymer has an ester group at the ω-end which is formed by a Tishchenko-type termination reaction between the growing chain end and the 3-PPA monomer. The poly(3-PPA) is stable at room temperature, whereas the poly(3-PPA) obtained with EtMgBr alone at −78 °C degrades slowly even in the solid state to 3-PPA monomer at room temperature. 1H and 13C NMR spectra of the poly(3-PPA) showed rather sharp resonances, suggesting that the polymer may be stereoregular, although the tactici..."}]}],"creator":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699995670620545","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Seong-Ho Choi"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Applied Chemistry, School of Engineering, Nagoya University, Chikusa-ku, Nagoya 464-01, Japan"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699995670620544","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Eiji Yashima"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Applied Chemistry, School of Engineering, Nagoya University, Chikusa-ku, Nagoya 464-01, Japan"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1381699995670620546","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Yoshio Okamoto"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@value":"Department of Applied Chemistry, School of Engineering, Nagoya University, Chikusa-ku, Nagoya 464-01, Japan"}]}],"publication":{"publicationIdentifier":[{"@type":"PISSN","@value":"00249297"},{"@type":"EISSN","@value":"15205835"}],"prism:publicationName":[{"@value":"Macromolecules"}],"dc:publisher":[{"@value":"American Chemical Society (ACS)"}],"prism:publicationDate":"1996-01-01","prism:volume":"29","prism:number":"6","prism:startingPage":"1880","prism:endingPage":"1885"},"reviewed":"false","url":[{"@id":"https://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/ma951563b"}],"createdAt":"2002-07-26","modifiedAt":"2021-09-23","relatedProduct":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1360298754842366464","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Tandem polymerization consisting of cyclotrimerization and the Tishchenko reaction: synthesis of acid- and alkali-degradable polymers with cyclic acetal and ester structures in the main chain"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390001206288132224","@type":"Article","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Synthesis of Polyesters from Terephthalaldehyde and Isophthalaldehyde through Tishchenko Reaction Catalyzed by the Ethylmagnesium Bromide-(-)-Sparteine Complex and Aluminum Alkoxides."},{"@value":"Synthesis of Polyesters from Terephthalaldehyde and Isophthalaldehyde through Tishchenko Reaction Catalyzed by the Ethylmagnesium Bromide-(-)-Sparteine Complex and Aluminium Alkoxides"},{"@language":"ja-Kana","@value":"Synthesis of Polyesters from Terephthal"},{"@value":"Synthesis of Polyesters from Terephthalaldehyde and Isophthalaldehyde through Tishchenko Reaction Catalyzed by the Ethylmagnesium Bromide-(−)-Sparteine Complex and Aluminum Alkoxides"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390282679563740672","@type":"Article","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Anionic Polymerization of Optically Active Propene Oxides Bearing Substituted <i>N</i>,<i>N</i>-Diphenylamino Moiety"}]}],"dataSourceIdentifier":[{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1021/ma951563b"},{"@type":"OPENAIRE","@value":"doi_dedup___::37a32b1960a59092a270c291cc8dcfb1"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1295/polymj.29.261_references_DOI_JO9HGddFvKZMrC1YGHAywJzTSfP"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1039/d2py01038k_references_DOI_JO9HGddFvKZMrC1YGHAywJzTSfP"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1246/cl.141043_references_DOI_JO9HGddFvKZMrC1YGHAywJzTSfP"}]}
