Powder x-ray diffraction studies of the highly crystalline products (C\n            <jats:sub>3</jats:sub>\n            H\n            <jats:sub>2</jats:sub>\n            BO)\n            <jats:sub>6</jats:sub>\n            ·(C\n            <jats:sub>9</jats:sub>\n            H\n            <jats:sub>12</jats:sub>\n            )\n            <jats:sub>1</jats:sub>\n            (COF-1) and C\n            <jats:sub>9</jats:sub>\n            H\n            <jats:sub>4</jats:sub>\n            BO\n            <jats:sub>2</jats:sub>\n            (COF-5) revealed expanded porous graphitic layers that are either staggered (COF-1,\n            <jats:italic>P</jats:italic>\n            6\n            <jats:sub>3</jats:sub>\n            /\n            <jats:italic>mmc</jats:italic>\n            ) or eclipsed (COF-5,\n            <jats:italic>P</jats:italic>\n            6/\n            <jats:italic>mmm</jats:italic>\n            ). Their crystal structures are entirely held by strong bonds between B, C, and O atoms to form rigid porous architectures with pore sizes ranging from 7 to 27 angstroms.
