The proteins showed in vitro cytotoxicity to human cells, including cancer cells, only when activated by protease treatment. The human leukemic T (MOLT-4) cells were100 times more susceptible than HeLa and normal T cells to the proteins of 89-T-34-22. The cytotoxicity was dose dependent and the median effective concentration for the MOLT-4 was 3.5 microg/ml. The cytopathy induced by the 89-T-34-22 proteins was characterized by remarkable condensation of the nucleus and cell-ballooning. Five major parasporal proteins of 89-T-34-22, with molecular masses in the range of 16-160 kDa, shared no similarity with the previously reported proteins in terms of the N-terminal sequence."}]}],"creator":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1382825893483818369","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Dae-Weon Lee"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1382825893483818240","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Tetsuyuki Akao"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1382825893483818370","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Satoko Yamashita"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1382825893483818368","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Hideki Katayama"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1382825893483818371","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Minoru Maeda"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1382825893483818373","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Hiroyuki Saitoh"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1382825893483818374","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Eiichi Mizuki"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1382825893483818372","@type":"Researcher","foaf:name":[{"@value":"Michio Ohba"}]}],"publication":{"publicationIdentifier":[{"@type":"PISSN","@value":"0006291X"}],"prism:publicationName":[{"@value":"Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications"}],"dc:publisher":[{"@value":"Elsevier BV"}],"prism:publicationDate":"2000-05","prism:volume":"272","prism:number":"1","prism:startingPage":"218","prism:endingPage":"223"},"reviewed":"false","dc:rights":["https://www.elsevier.com/tdm/userlicense/1.0/"],"url":[{"@id":"https://api.elsevier.com/content/article/PII:S0006291X00927657?httpAccept=text/xml"},{"@id":"https://api.elsevier.com/content/article/PII:S0006291X00927657?httpAccept=text/plain"}],"createdAt":"2002-09-16","modifiedAt":"2021-05-03","foaf:topic":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Inclusion%20Bodies","dc:title":"Inclusion Bodies"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Spores,%20Bacterial","dc:title":"Spores, Bacterial"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Leukemia,%20T-Cell","dc:title":"Leukemia, T-Cell"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Dose-Response%20Relationship,%20Drug","dc:title":"Dose-Response Relationship, Drug"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Cell%20Survival","dc:title":"Cell Survival"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Molecular%20Sequence%20Data","dc:title":"Molecular Sequence Data"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Bacillus%20thuringiensis","dc:title":"Bacillus thuringiensis"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Antineoplastic%20Agents","dc:title":"Antineoplastic Agents"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Molecular%20Weight","dc:title":"Molecular Weight"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Microscopy,%20Electron","dc:title":"Microscopy, Electron"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Bacterial%20Proteins","dc:title":"Bacterial Proteins"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Tumor%20Cells,%20Cultured","dc:title":"Tumor Cells, Cultured"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Animals","dc:title":"Animals"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Humans","dc:title":"Humans"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Amino%20Acid%20Sequence","dc:title":"Amino Acid Sequence"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=HeLa%20Cells","dc:title":"HeLa Cells"}],"relatedProduct":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1360004231995933312","@type":"Article","resourceType":"学術雑誌論文(journal article)","relationType":["isReferencedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Mode of action of parasporin-4, a cytocidal protein from Bacillus thuringiensis"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390001206242680576","@type":"Article","relationType":["isReferencedBy","isCitedBy"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"High frequency of Bacillus thuringiensis in feces of herbivorous animals maintained in a zoological garden in Japan."}]}],"dataSourceIdentifier":[{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1006/bbrc.2000.2765"},{"@type":"CIA","@value":"30017784812"},{"@type":"OPENAIRE","@value":"doi_dedup___::9b196edda8be724a2515d59d99097322"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1303/aez.2002.509_references_DOI_8kPugn9dMJmRbrMajygL8qd039z"},{"@type":"CROSSREF","@value":"10.1016/j.bbamem.2010.11.003_references_DOI_8kPugn9dMJmRbrMajygL8qd039z"}]}
