<jats:p>Cyanosilylation of aldehydes and aliphatic ketones can be carried out in dimethylformamide even without the use of any catalyst. In the presence of nucleophilic catalysts such as carbonate and phosphate salts, the reaction rate is significantly enhanced.</jats:p>
