The Kanagawa Prefectural Kawasaki Library is known as a public library provided with various materials in the field of industry, science and technology. Since its establishment in 1958, the library has been providing its users with patent journals, etc. Today it also offers unique business support services such as seminars and consultations with regard to the field of intellectual property rights. For a public library to continue to provide such services, it is essential to cooperate with other organizations. This paper describes in detail the services the library offers in cooperation with other organizations. In addition, it describes the history of its services and its relations to the national intellectual property policy.
