Description
It is known experimentally that capillary oscillations of a sessile drop cause efficient mixing inside these drop. In this paper we investigate the mixing phenomena theoretically. We determine the dispersion relation of eigen oscillations of a sessile drop (a hemisphere). Particle trajectories and density of makers associated with these oscillations are computed numerically. It is found that an efficient mixing occurs only when more than two modes are combined.
