They had commonly chromosomal characters at resting nuclei of the complex chromocenter type, and the mitotic metaphase cells showed 2n=36 for M. japonica, 2n=18 for M. chinenis, M. scabra, M. dianthera and M. dianthera var. nana. The chromosome numbers of 2n=18 and 36 were considered diploid and tetraploid, respectively if the basic number x=9 was accepted. The chromosome number of 2n=18 for M. dianthera var. nana was reported here for the first time, and that of the other four species were verified with the previous reports. The karyotypes of five taxa had commonly similar karyomorphology to each other except for chromosome numbers; small sized chromosomes (2.2 to 1.1 μm long), mono-modal (gradual) decrease in chromosome length from the longest to the shortest chromosomes, and consists of median- and submedian-centromeric chromosomes."}],"abstractLicenseFlag":"disallow"}],"creator":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1410001205282929408","@type":"Researcher","personIdentifier":[{"@type":"NRID","@value":"9000258053474"}],"foaf:name":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Ogawa Makoto"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Tokushima Prefectural Museum, Bunka-no-mori, Hachiman-cho, Tokushima city, Tokushima 770-8070, Japan"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1410001205282929409","@type":"Researcher","personIdentifier":[{"@type":"NRID","@value":"9000363245968"}],"foaf:name":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Funamoto Tsuneo"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Biological Institute, Fundamental Education and Research Center of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Showa Pharmaceutical University, 3-chome, Higashi-Tamagawagakuen, Machida city, Tokyo 194-8543, Japan"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1410001205282929410","@type":"Researcher","personIdentifier":[{"@type":"NRID","@value":"9000258053475"}],"foaf:name":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Kariyama Shungo"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Kurashiki Museum of Natural History, Chuo-2, Kurashiki city, Okayama 710-0046, Japan"}]}],"publication":{"publicationIdentifier":[{"@type":"PISSN","@value":"18815936"},{"@type":"EISSN","@value":"18818285"}],"prism:publicationName":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Chromosome Botany"},{"@language":"en","@value":"Chromosome Botany"}],"dc:publisher":[{"@language":"en","@value":"International Society of Chromosome Botany"},{"@language":"ja","@value":"国際染色体植物学会"}],"prism:publicationDate":"2014","prism:volume":"9","prism:number":"2","prism:startingPage":"41","prism:endingPage":"45"},"reviewed":"false","dcterms:accessRights":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2","availableAt":"2014","foaf:topic":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Japan","dc:title":"Japan"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Karyomorphology","dc:title":"Karyomorphology"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Lamiaceae","dc:title":"Lamiaceae"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=%3CI%3EMosla%3C/I%3E","dc:title":"Mosla"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=Subtribe%20Perillinae","dc:title":"Subtribe Perillinae"}],"relatedProduct":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1360292620751570176","@type":"Article","relationType":["references"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"NOMENCLATURE FOR CENTROMERIC POSITION ON CHROMOSOMES"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1360574094633564288","@type":"Article","relationType":["references"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"Cytology of West-Himalayan Labiatae: Tribe Satureineae"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1363388845944828288","@type":"Article","relationType":["references"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@value":"IOPB CHROMOSOME NUMBER REPORTS: XVIII"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390001204220523392","@type":"Article","relationType":["references"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"A List of Chromosome Numbers in Angiospermous Plants"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390001205283572352","@type":"Article","relationType":["references"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"A comparison of chromosome characters in three species of Thymus (Lamiaceae) collected in Russia and Mongolian Altai"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1390001205284047744","@type":"Article","relationType":["references"],"jpcoar:relatedTitle":[{"@language":"en","@value":"A comparative study of chromosome characters in four species of Elsholtzia Will.
