Description

Ba(Ln1/2,Ta1/2)O3[Ln : La, Pr, Nd, Sm] were prepared by the conventional solid reaction method. Dielectric properties and far-infrared reflectivity of these samples were measured at room temperature. Qf values were calculated using IR data and two analytical models (classical dispersion relation and two phonon process model). There was a significant difference between the Qf values calculated by two models. In comparison with Qf value measured in the range of MW frequency, it was considered that the two phonon process model was an appropriate model for the extrapolation of dielectric loss to the MW range.
