Description

We study the relation between the form of antral floor and dental root in odontogenic maxillary sinusitis. Materials in this study were the orthopantomography of 36 patients with odontogenic maxillary sinusitis. The age of patients is 30 to 69. 18 cases showed the simple forms of antral floor. the simple forms are flat and circular type. Another 18 cases showed convexity of antral floor toward the lower side. In the result, the odontogenic maxillary sinusitis didn't recurred after dental treatment of the diseased tooth in 18 cases with the simple forms of antral floor. On the other hand, in 18 cases with convexity of antral floor toward the lower side, 6 cases had recurrence within 1 year after dental treatment of the diseased tooth.
