Description
A half-toroidal double cavity CVT with torque capacity of 340Nm was put into market in 1999. Following to this success, a new project of transmitting higher torque by smaller size has been started. The design goal is set up to develop a 430Nm CVT with 6 power rollers instead of conventional 4 power rollers. On the design of the CVT, equal torque transmission among 6 power rollers and stability of speed ratio control mechanism are important issues. This paper describes the synchronizing mechanism of the 6 power rollers CVT, and the measurement of power rollers motion and efficiency.
