Description
The paper describes the extended discrete Green function theory for the analysis of multi-electrode interdigital transducers having electrodes of unequal pitch and/or width. Such a configuration is effectively used to develop unidirectional transducers. First, the field distribution on double- and triple-electrode gratings is calculated by generalisation of Aoki and Ingebrigtsen's method. Then, the discrete Green function is derived by representing the total field as a sum of contributions from various grating modes. Finally, the impulse response model for transducers having various electrode configurations is derived from the discrete Green function.
