Description
We previously proposed a lossless image coding method based on example search and probability model optimization. In the method, probabilities of image values are modeled pel-by-pel as a linear combination of Gaussian functions whose center positions are given by examples gathered from a search window in the causal neighborhood. In this paper, an adaptive prediction technique is incorporated into the above example search to exploit both non-local and local image information in the probability modeling. Experimental results show that the proposed method attains comparable or better coding performance than the state-of-the-art other lossless coding schemes.
