<p>Traditional Japanese wood joints are used in traditional Japanese architecture. However, due to modern building methods, the craftsmanship is declining. This project intends to bring the art of Japanese wood joints into homes in form of furniture, made by the craftsmen. Implementing the traditional techniques into modern furniture, that can be used in a modern lifestyle, gives it a new purpose and a way for craftsmen to apply their skills. The furniture piece in this study is a coat stand.</p>
