Description

A wall boundary is treated as staircase representation for Cartesian-mesh CFD method. Immersed Boundary Method (IBM) has been porposed to accurately treat the wall surface. Cartesian mesh are easy to generate grids, but a huge number of grids are required to accurately reproduce the object shape. In IBM, wall boundary conditions are imposed for cells in the fluid region. In this research, Cartesian-mesh CFD with IBM was applied to backstep flow simulation model to investigate the effect of IBM. The pressure distribution and boundary layer velocity profile were compared by changing the inclined angle of the model.
