The purpose of this study is to clarify the components and their related factors of “KAIGONOKOKORO.” A survey was conducted on 385 professional caregivers who were registered as staff at the welfare facilities for the elderly. First, we conducted a factor analysis. Next, we discussed the correlation between these factors and their related factors. As a result of an exploratory factor analysis, three factors were identified: (1) Values of symbiosis with human beings, (2) Consciousness of oneself as a Professional, and (3) Viewpoint of hope for the client. We also identified the important relationship among the three factors and “elements of care,” “attitude of care” and “ethics of care”. In addition, we confirmed the positive correlation between the three factors and the “elements of care,” “attitude of care” and “ethics of care.” In particular, it was revealed that the first factor, “elements of care,” affects all of the three factors. These findings represent the first conceptualization of "KAIGONOKOKORO". These findings suggest that "KAIGONOKOKORO" consists of three components. We also confirmed correlation between the three components and the “elements of care,” “attitude of care” and “ethics of care.”
