Description
<p>Injection of certain material into cell membrane is a promising approach to modify cellular functions. In this study, we investigated the effect of the bubble injector, which generates electrically-induced bubbles through application of high-frequent electrical pulses, on uptake of lipophilic molecules into lipid bilayer. When DiI or cholesterol-conjugated ssDNA was added to liposome suspension, they were rarely incorporated into the liposomes at least the first several minuets. On the other hands, when these molecules were injected by bubble injector, they were incorporated into the liposomes immediately after the injection. These results suggest that the bubble injector has the effect to enhance incorporation of lipophilic molecules into lipid bilayer.</p>
