At a concentration of 1.56μg/ml, kitasamycin inhibited all isolates of <i>Diplococcus pneumoniae</i>, 98% of isolates of <i>Staphylococcus</i> aureus sensitive to penicillin G and 99% of isolates of <i>Staphylococcus</i> aureus resistant to penicillin G.
