Left homonymous hemianopsia was correlated with exotropia at the near (χ<sup>2</sup> value, 4.039; p<0.05) and far (χ<sup>2</sup> value, 4.586; p<0.05) eye positions. Initial examinations were performed less than 1 year after onset in 18 patients (15 males and 3 females). In these patients, eye position changed with time at the near but not at the far eye position. The correlation between the laterality of homonymous hemianopsia and that of the fixed, exotropic eye was not symmetrical. Patients with left homonymous hemianopsia had fixation of the right, left, or both eyes, but none of the patients with right homonymous hemianopsia had fixation of the left eye.
