She had a 3-year history of asymptomatic hypertrophy of the fingers. Physical examination revealed lesions located on the sides of the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joints of the middle and ring fingers of the right hand. A skin biopsy specimen showed hyperkeratosis, acanthosis and a mild increase in dermal collagen.
