However, the used parameters to calculate the largest Lyapunov exponent differ among researchers and it is difficult to find out the common view of the results. In the present study, the effects of different parameters were experimentally examined in calculating the largest Lyapunov exponent of finger plethysmograms. The results showed that the time delay is positively correlated to the largest Lyapunov exponent, while the evolution time, the super sphere, the sampling frequency and the analyzed interval are negatively correlated to it. It is, therefore, proposed that we should compare the largest Lyapunov exponent obtained in each study with the same parameters in chaos analysis of finger
