Description
Electromyographic studies were made on the activities of the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles of the horse in locomotion. Electromyograms (EMGs) and changes in strain of the hooves were transmitted by a telemeter and recorded synchronously with a 16-mm motion picture of 200 fps. It was revealed that the activities of these muscles appeared during the fore- and mid-stance phases of the ipsilateral foreleg in walk, trot and canter with or without a rider.
