Reimplantation of tracheal autograft was performed after the resection of cervical trachea. He-Ne laser (3.3×10<SUP>-3</SUP> W/cm2, 5 minutes, 7.5×10<SUP>-2</SUP>J) was irradiated to the site of anastomoses in irradiated group. Tissue blood flow of tracheal autograft was assessed with laser doppler perfusion monitor (Periflux PF3, Perimed, Sweden), and newly generated vessels were stained with injected India ink and examined histologically.<BR>The ratio of blood flow was similar on postoperative days 3 and 7 in both groups, however it showed dissociation on day 14 and 21, the value was closing to 1.0 in irradiated group. India ink staining was not recognized at the autograft on day 3 in both groups. After day 7 all irradiated group showed neovascularity, and 50-75% of control group.
