He must have reached his very last stage, namely crucifixion, after making several important leaps in his last years. Therefore, not all things he spoke should have unanimous relevance to us today. His words about the eschatological coming of the Reign of God do not have the same importance as 2000 years ago. Also, the threatening utterances and words that demand absolute authority for himself should not be uncritically adopted by the church.
