It has been reported that individuals who have strong social bonds are adaptive in terms of reproduction (e.g., Cameron, Setsaas & Linklater, 2009). Moreover, the similarity principle suggests that individuals may choose a similar group member as a partner of the affiliative interaction and start to form social bonds with him/her (de Waal & Luttrell, 1986). In fact, domestic horses (Equus caballus) build more strong social bonds with their more similar age group members (Wilds, 2019). However, it is still unclear whether horses prefer the similar age conspecifics before interacting with them. In this study, we investigated whether domestic horses show a visual preference for the same-age conspecifics by using photos of stranger horses (old age, same-age or young age) in single presentations. The participant horses’ gaze, approach, and touch behaviors toward the photos did not change regardless of the stranger horse’s age. These results suggest that domestic horses do not show a visual preference for the same-age conspecifics without any interactions with them.</p>"},{"@language":"ja","@value":"<p>ヒトを含む社会的動物は，同種他個体と親密で永続的な関係（以下，社会的絆）を築く。この社会的絆を強く築く個体は繁殖において有利であることが報告されてきている（e.g., Cameron, Setsaas & Linklater, 2009）。また，de Waal & Luttrell（1986）では，個体は自分と類似した集団内の他個体を親和的な相互作用の相手として選び，社会的絆を形成し始める可能性が示唆されている。実際，ウマ（Equus caballus）においてはより年齢の近い個体間で強い社会的絆が築かれる（ワイルズ，2019）。しかし，ウマが他個体と相互作用をする前に，似た年齢の個体を選好しているかどうかは明らかになっていない。本研究では，ウマが，年齢の異なる未知のウマの顔写真（幼若・同齢・老齢）を単呈示された時に，同年齢の同種他個体に対して視覚的選好を示すかどうかを検討した。その結果，写真のウマの年齢は参加個体の刺激に対する注視行動・接近行動・接触行動に影響しなかった。これらの結果は，ウマは相互作用をする前に，その顔写真に対して同齢他個体への視覚的選好を示さないことを示唆している。</p>"}],"abstractLicenseFlag":"disallow"}],"creator":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1410287540625463552","@type":"Researcher","personIdentifier":[{"@type":"NRID","@value":"9000412017734"}],"foaf:name":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Takimoto-Inose Ayaka"},{"@language":"ja","@value":"瀧本-猪瀬 彩加"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@language":"ja","@value":"北海道大学"},{"@language":"en","@value":"Hokkaido University"}]},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1410287540625463553","@type":"Researcher","personIdentifier":[{"@type":"NRID","@value":"9000412017733"}],"foaf:name":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Kamatani Miki"},{"@language":"ja","@value":"鎌谷 美希"}],"jpcoar:affiliationName":[{"@language":"ja","@value":"北海道大学"},{"@language":"en","@value":"Hokkaido University"}]}],"publication":{"publicationIdentifier":[{"@type":"PISSN","@value":"09182756"},{"@type":"EISSN","@value":"21897670"},{"@type":"LISSN","@value":"21897670"}],"prism:publicationName":[{"@language":"ja","@value":"北海道心理学研究"},{"@language":"en","@value":"The Annals of the Hokkaido Psychological Society"}],"dc:publisher":[{"@language":"en","@value":"Hokkaido Psychological Society"},{"@language":"ja","@value":"北海道心理学会"}],"prism:publicationDate":"2021-03-31","prism:volume":"43","prism:number":"0","prism:startingPage":"1","prism:endingPage":"15"},"reviewed":"true","dcterms:accessRights":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2","availableAt":"2021-03-31","foaf:topic":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=%E3%82%A6%E3%83%9E","dc:title":"ウマ"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=%E7%A4%BE%E4%BC%9A%E7%9A%84%E7%B5%86","dc:title":"社会的絆"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=%E8%A6%96%E8%A6%9A%E7%9A%84%E9%81%B8%E5%A5%BD","dc:title":"視覚的選好"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=%E9%A1%9E%E4%BC%BC%E6%80%A7%E3%81%AE%E5%8E%9F%E5%89%87","dc:title":"類似性の原則"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=horses","dc:title":"horses"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=social%20bond","dc:title":"social bond"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=visual%20preference","dc:title":"visual preference"},{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/all?q=similarity%20principle","dc:title":"similarity principle"}],"project":[{"@id":"https://cir.nii.ac.jp/crid/1040000782005625728","@type":"Project","projectIdentifier":[{"@type":"KAKEN","@value":"18K18339"},{"@type":"JGN","@value":"JP18K18339"},{"@type":"URI","@value":"https://kaken.nii.ac.jp/grant/KAKENHI-PROJECT-18K18339/"}],"notation":[{"@language":"ja","@value":"ウマにおける同種他個体・ヒトとの社会的絆形成を促す心理・生理要因に関する研究"},{"@language":"en","@value":"Studies about psychological and physiological factors on horses'  social bonds with conspecifics and humans"}]}],"dataSourceIdentifier":[{"@type":"JALC","@value":"oai:japanlinkcenter.org:2008352864"},{"@type":"CIA","@value":"130008009400"},{"@type":"KAKEN","@value":"PRODUCT-23366926"}]}
