Person trip survey can be used as basic information for social district analysis, and when read from the perspective of daily rhythm based on time geography, it is within the urban space. It is possible to use it to elucidate the actual living conditions of overseas cities. The survey recorded a total of 570,000 trips targeting 117,000 people. The Greater Cairo during this period preserved the traditional lifestyle of the common people, while the \"modernized\" white-collar lifestyle was mixed in a polarized manner, and the urban area since the Middle Ages was greatly expanded.
"},{"@language":"ja","@value":"統計データの取得が難しく、また精度に不安がある海外調査の補完方法としてJICAによるパーソントリップ調査に注目して社会調査としての活用を試みる。パーソントリップ調査がもつ職業、年齢、性別等の個人属性やトリップの移動目的、そして時間情報は社会地区分析の基礎情報として活用でき、また時間地理学を踏まえたデイリーリズムの視点をもって読み解くと都市空間内での位置の諸相から海外都市の生活実態の解明に役立てることが可能である。 当該調査は11.7万人を対象にのべ57万トリップを収録したものである。お国柄もありサンプリングの大きな偏りや回答の不正確さを割引きつつ、上記の視点で分析すると2001年当時のGreater Cairo（カイロ大都市圏）の状況、すなわちその後の爆発的経済成長の前夜と位置づけられる時期の経済・社会的状況を記録する貴重な現代史史料として位置づけることができる。 いうまでもなく職業構成や交通手段は国および時期によって大きく異なる。この時期のカイロは自家用車の普及途上であり、各種のバスおよび乗合タクシーといった公共交通の機関分担率が高く、また地区ごとの経済事情によりシェアは大きく異なっていた。この点に限らずこの時期のカイロは伝統的な生活様式の色濃く残る庶民生活を残しながら、他方で「現代化」したホワイトカラーの生活様式が分極したまま混在し、また中世以来の都市域を大きく超えて拡大していく様を移動・交通データからも読み取ることができる。
