Description
<p> In order to control cathodic protection depend on corrosion rate, it is necessary to establish a method to evaluate the corrosion rate of steel in concrete under cathodic protection. We have proposed the RAP method (Reciprocating Anode Polarization Curve Measurement Method) for evaluating the corrosion rate of steel in concrete under cathodic protection in the moist environment. However, the evaluation accuracy of the RAP method under the atmospheric environment has not been investigated. Laboratory tests on mortar specimens confirmed the accuracy of the RAP method under the atmospheric conditions. The RAP method is more accurate than the Tafel slope method for both natural corrosion and cathodic protection.</p>
