Description
<p>It is necessary to discuss the method in order to help the elderly with dementia improve their ability to understand pictograms. For that reason, it is significant to measure the understanding value of visual symbols by applying expression for those techniques that have been used in a popular cultural visual medium called “Manga”. We used “The Communication Picture Support picture Symbol Design Principle (JIS T 0103),” created for people with disabilities and the elderly in 2005, as stimuli. We measured the percentage of understanding of the pictograms for the elderly suffering from dementia.</p>
