Description

The actors of the Kyôgen comedic theatre perform an empty space of the Noh theatre. They almost never use stage sets; props are also minimal. Using dialogues and the actors' movement Kyôgen has developed simple and efficient ways to indicate places. Kyôgen characters, which range from masters, their servants, husbands and wives, to priests and merchants, go around places in their daily space, or make short trips, or sometimes travel considerable distances.
