Description
The service program repeats processor processing and I/O processing. If the user can control speed of the processing, the user feels convenient. So, we proposed the processor performance regulating method and the I/O performance regulating method. The I/O performance regulating method calculates the target I/O time from requested performance that the user set. And, the I/O performance regulating method delays the execution of a process in I/O system-call until the target I/O time by the sleep function of OS. As regards I/O device, Solid State Drive (SSD) that are spread can execute an I/O request in short time. Accordingly, the target I/O time and the delay time are short too. So, the delay time is shorter than minimum time that the sleep function supports, and the I/O time that the I/O performance regulating function delays is longer than the target I/O time. As a result, a regulating accuracy of the I/O time decreases. In this paper, we propose a selective busy-loop method that uses busy loop function to improve regulating accuracy. We also describe that the proposed method can improve regulating accuracy with the I/O device that executes an I/O request at short time.
