Description

We measured the accumulation of metal elements in some terrestorial arthropods, using an X-ray analysis microscope (XGT). By mapping measurement, presence of Zn accumulation in mandibular part was confirmed in some invertebrate mandibles.

It was confirmed that the tendency was not paralleled with the arthropod phylogeny.

Since putting it in the ant as one of measurement examples, Zn wasn't accumulated in mandibles in pupa. Therefore, it is suggested that Zn is being accumulated in mandibles during development.
