Description

According to the 2014 survey by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, more than half of the empty houses are generated by inheritance. In order to address the worsening problem of vacant houses, the purpose of this paper is to systematically organize inheritance data and analyze spatially how much inheritance generates vacant houses in Japan. First, we clarify the relationship between the rate of occurrence of potential vacant houses and the current vacancy rate indicated by the national vacancy survey. Next, we conduct a cross-analysis of inheritance attributes and logistic regression analysis to understand the characteristics of inheritance and buildings that are more prone to generating vacant houses.
